China has come to realise a few issues. 1. Forceful reunification of Taiwan is beyond China  2.Peaceful reunification cannot be achieved, 3. Taiwan does not want any kind of Unification. 4. No possibility of unification in the next four years . Accordingly, its strategy has changed to law fare, gray zone activities, cognitive warfare and intimidation. Recent military exercise (Strait Sword 2025A) also suggests that China is now undertaking a slow strangulation of Taiwan. In days to come we will witness military activity which will attempt to isolate/ quarantine Taiwan for extended periods which will be short of a blockade or war. New normals are being established. These actions are based on the premise that USA will not / cannot intervene in any Chinese ‘non war’ activity. Additionally having made peace with India it is no more in a two front situation. Hence, Taiwan, USA, Japan and Philippines will have to deal with ‘Dark Gray’ activity in future.
