A Big One is Coming

Lt Gen Dushyant Singh and I had a sobering conversation. There is a lot of euphoria about the India China thaw. The traders and commercialists are upbeat. Some think that Hindi Cheeni Bhai Bhai 2.0 has begun. It will do us well to know that Chinese feel that our rise is at their expense. It is worth our while to remember that every time China has stepped back it has come back more aggressively to our detriment. A big one is coming from China when one views it holistically. It is time we start evaluating how China will get back at us. It is also time that we start putting in place measures to deter China from any misadventure.

    I have many comments. 1.A very well informed analysis of the future chinese intentions.Surely the current force commanders also may be aware of this and the DANGEROUS SILIGURI GAP.But if chinese try to intrude there then we can bomb shaghai as it would be naked aggression by china across an undisputed international border.If such weak points are known surely there will be counter mesures also we can move into chinese territory too. 3.I agree there is a need for more defence spending. 4.The current recruitment of officers must undergo radical changes.There is no need for elaborate SSB interviews.If young college graduates want to join so long as they are physically and mentally fit with a clean record they should be trained for 6 months and used with freedom to leave after minimum 3 years service with no pension but just 3 months salary as gratuity and the 3 years to be counted for any govt job.You will have officers to man posts on which you now waste NDA/IMA officers.Agniveer scheme with some modification serves the purpose.Pension is a serious issue of cost hence we should try out different schemes. 3 As far as the MSME sector is concerned the GOI has 17 assistance schemes with interest and capital subsidies.There is not only hand holding but also body holding..They dot not respond by doing quality control or increasing productivity.They are the ones responsible for OUR INCREASED DEPENDENCE ON CHINA.FM stated this clearly.GOI will be prepared to ban all consumer products imports from china but will our MSME meet the gap with quality supplies at competitive prices not necessarily the same as chinese prices. 4.A collector /DM even a Sub Inspector can open fire if considered necessary to quell a mob. CAN A BATRALION COMMANDER ON THE BORDER USE FORCE WHEN HE SEES CHINESE USURPING OUR TERRITORY.IF HE CAN AND DOES NO CHINESE SOLDIER CAN DARE CROSS INTO OUR BORDER.Regards
