Sir, in my humble opinion there is a finite amount of resources in this world of ours that we call Earth. Hence when a nation’s economy rises, it’s consumption also increases, thus a competition for these resources arises. The military comes into play when one wants to usurp these resources by force, hence the constant push and pull between nations! The colonial period was essentially to usurp these resources and this is going on today! So, yes the cake to eat is shrinking for China and others as India rises!! What India is trying to do is use its soft power to convince those countries with resources to trade/share with India. But as Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel said, soft power alone, without hard power is useless to force a decision! India needs to learn to wield both Soft Power and Hard Power and must not hesitate to use both judiciously!
My two cents.
Thank you.
