At the 20th Party Congress, Xi the Jinping gave us a vision of a superpower rising to conquer the world. What is the reality?

Remember the times when Xi the Jinping shouted from the rooftops that the Chinese system is better than all the other systems? He mocked at democracies like India and USA which seemed incapable of tackling the the virus. china had opened up and was having poolside parties. Zero Covid was touted as the successful communist alternative to lumbering democracies. the Chinese vaccines were to save the world from the Virus. Today the boot is firmly on the other foot.

The lumbering democracies are loafing around freely. China is masked, locked down, quarantined and undergoing mass testing. There are protests. the economy is headed firmly in the south. USA, UK , Canada and EU are blowing the headwinds China is facing. India is emerging as an alternate to China. Even the Chinese might turn to India for vaccines. Only India has the scale to give vaccines to China. However that’s another matter.
