Lt Gen PC Nair gives a clear insight of the civil war which is going on in Myanmar. The Tatmadaw is down but not out. The rebels are upbeat but not in full control. The Chinese are playing both sides and consolidating their interests. Drugs and arms smuggling are rampant. The spillover effect on Manipur and Mizoram continues to be significant. India needs to set its internal politics right and be more assertive in its Myanmar policy.
