The India-Af-Pak scenario is turning to be an interesting one. Needs close monitoring. Pakistan’s strategic depth is turning into strategic anguish. The internal deteriorating internal situation in Pakistan is compounded by its souring relations with Taliban. As Pakistan seeks to tighten its screws on trade routes to Afghanistan, the Taliban has sought to develop ties with India and is seeking to develop the Chabahar route. Taliban wants India around as a hedge against China and a foil against Pakistan. India on its part is happy with the fact that Pakistan is busy preoccupied with its western border. This is also an opportunity for India to reach out to Afghans with whom we have great people to people friendship. India is on the right track.
