Xi has deep anxieties on many fronts – economic, diplomatic, demographic and military. China now face four military fronts in Korea, Taiwan, South China Sea and India. It does not want to get into a two front situation. It has failed to enforce a military solution on India. USA is redeploying and reinforcing forces in the Western Pacific even before Trump Hawks have assumed office.
