The reaction from the tabloid Chinese press is that India’s Hypersonic test is worse than ‘Houthi’ quality and that a HGV was not fired. Be that as it may, the fact remains that the air vehicle did achieve all its payments of range and manoeuvrability. Means do not matter, ends do. To that extent once operationalised , the hypersonic system will give us tremendous advantage. We need to develop our systems based on our requirements and capacities. India does not have to contend head to head with China on any military issue or technology when it has the gift of geography. . Further this development must be seen in conjunction with five other missile systems which have been tested out this year. Let us not forget the strides made in other fields. When seen in totality, the hypersonic test conveys hard strength to the Chinese in uncertain terms.
