Corporatisation Of Intelligence

Good intelligence is a pre-requisite not only to prosecute wars but also to prevent them. This is an area which India has found to be lacking. Presently intelligence can be gathered from multiple sources and is widely available. Increasingly int collection and analysis is technology driven. It is a very specialised and sophisticated field where specific areas can be targeted. It has also become commercialised and is increasingly being corporatised. In this scenario, Lt Gen D P Pandey (R) examines if the Armed Forces can adopt a PPP model and take to corporatisation of intelligence through its think tanks.

  1. A very interesting topic for me…not sure I am qualified enough but would like to engage with them.

One of the companies I sent my resume to before returning to Bharat was RAW !!

  2. R&AW has been doing this for a long time now. O have worked for one such concern dealing with China & MSS. How effective the output was could not be assessed. Most such contracts were farmed out to privileged individuals for considerations far divorced from Intelligence & national security. After a year or so I stopped my association with them.
