2025 has been declared as the year of reforms by the MOD. The singular major reform which is expected to kick in is establishment of integrated theatre commands. While the size and shape of the theatres can be discussed and debated , one must not be in a hurry in rolling out the theatres. The watchword needs to be slow and steady change without losing operational efficacy. Very importantly theatre commands will change the roles of the Service Chiefs and the CDS. It will also impose an operational role on the MOD which so far it has shunned. The most important change is mental and attitudinal in nature.
