Dr Amjad Ayub Mirza and I had a very interesting conversation on Pakistan and its unstable rimlands. The issue gravitated to reunification of POJK and GB with India. Many in India want to re-unify POJK and GB militarily. That is the worst option with a certainty of failure. Despite all the unrest in POJK and GB, the people have an anti India sentiment due to consistent brainwashing by Pakistan through ISI and its radical minions. They will prefer to live with a decadent Pakistan. If POJK or GB are to be amalgamated with the rest of Kashmir there has to be a political outreach which creates conditions for reunification. Use the power of modern information systems to convince the people there that they will better off by re-unifying with India is mandatory. A re-unification call must go out from the people of Kashmir to their brethren across the LOC. The issue also needs to be pursued through international channels. Most importantly India must have the political will to do so.
