The internal state of Pakistan is as cracked as it can be. It is riven by violent outbursts of internal dissent, peaceful movements seeking some sort of justice, intractable radical trends, economic degradation and a polity which is at odds with itself under the overarching umbrella of a predatory and greedy Army which seeks to retain control at any cost. The conundrum is that Pakistan is always on the brink – never to fall over or pull back ! Dr Amjad Ayub Mirza is a well known activist who knows Pakistan well.
