NATO has just finished 75 years. In this period it has grown from a membership of 10 to 32 with a few more waiting to join. It started largely as an anti soviet system focussed on European security. However its foot print and major conflicts are far beyond Europe. It is on the verge of making an entry into the Indo Pacific as part of the US bid to contain China. There are many more angles to this issue. All these have been very aptly highlighted by Ambassador Gurjit Singh with his customary incisiveness. He brings a fresh clarity to the multiple layers of NATO.
