Lt Gen K J Singh (R) and I had a great discussion on the state of Punjab and what the elections results means for the state. Most of us see the present and rarely look at the history of the state. That is what Lt Gen K J Singh put into focus. Punjab is a state of great religious syncretism which has survived many ups and downs. in its history. It has rolled back many issues and has always been progressive. One should never forget that and should not carried away by transitory issues like election results which come up from time to time.
