China recently gave high publicity to the establishment of an Information Support Force. Alongside that it also established the Aerospace Force and Cyberspace Force. In effect, China broke up the erstwhile Strategic Support Force in to its three constiuents with no capability added. My analysis suggests that it is more of a political move than an operational one. In china one has to follow the politics.
