Gunners Shot

This interaction with V Adm Suresh Bangara on Civil Military Relations was unique. It was mixture of the academic and experiential knowledge of a veteran who had an opportunity to discuss the issue of the Soldier and the State with Samuel Huntington. We spoke as why a professional military is required to safeguard the state. We spoke of the requirement of objective state control over the military in an era when subjective state control is creeping in. It is a must see for ‘Officers’ – retired or serving in an era where increasing politicisation of the Armed Forces is a reality.
