Purges in the PLA : Is Xi Jinping Under Threat

Xi Jinping’s purges have increased dramatically. The widespread purges encompass all walks of life – finance, healthcare, railways, logistics and et al. The PLA has come in for special treatment. The political purges have a special significance. All the purges can’t be all about corruption alone. Combine this various rumours which keep coming out, like cuts in the PLA salary or that Xi Jinping sought a 800 billion USD bail out from USA. The larger picture is that not only that Xi Jinping is under threat from his opponents but the overall effect on China’s economy. I am more than convinced that China will not recover. India has to adjust to a new normal of a declining China which will be unstable due to its internal weakness and external mercantilist ambitions.
