I’m glad our young minds are being engaged to understand geoeconomics, geopolitics and defense related topics. The one child policy is definitely playing havoc with china’s demographics. However, my take on population is after a certain critical mass, any excess numbers is a liability as more mouths have to be fed, educated and employed productively! India at Independence was 420 million strong, today we proudly proclaim we are 1.4Billion! The same land mass and water bodies now support a population 4x! How can this be sustainable? The same is similarly true for China. My take on this subject is it is better to have a few good people who are healthy, educated and productive than a mass of people who are illiterate, unhealthy and unproductive! The future jobs are knowledge based that will determine the new age economies and economic might of countries not muscle power which will only generate minimum wage and poverty!!!
